Produce & Fruit Box FAQ's

Where does your produce come from?

About 80% of our produce comes from around Canterbury and the South Island, supporting local farmers and reducing food miles. Other produce that cannot be grown locally is sourced from around the country, or from overseas for produce that isn't grown in New Zealand.

How fresh is your produce?

Our produce is very fresh! Sometimes our greens, like spinach, silver beet and lettuce etc., are harvested and arrive the morning of your delivery. Other products like carrots and pumpkins are no more than a day or two old. Our fruits are harvested and at your door within a few days.

How do I store my produce?

Once you have received your produce box, please store all produce properly to ensure that it lasts as long as possible. Your produce will arrive in sealed carton boxes so roaming pets will not get a chance to taste your produce first!

Deliveries are every Wednesday within Christchurch or Thursday for Canterbury / South Island.

When do I need to pay?

We request that all residential orders be placed and paid for before 10.00am Monday to ensure delivery that week.

What if I am not home to receive my delivery?

Our drivers will leave the box outside in a safe place, out of the sun and rain. Please let us know where you would like us to place your box on the order form. And please remember to return your empty box with your next delivery. Thanks.

What should I do with the empty box?

We value recycling. Please leave all empty boxes, egg cartons, meat boxes and plastic bags from previous orders out for collection on your following delivery. If you do not wish to order again, we ask that you please recycle the boxes, by placing them in your recycling bin or dropping them off at our warehouse: Unit G, 1013 Ferry Road, Ferrymead.

Did you know?

Shocking amounts of pesticides are found in conventional produce. If you consumed an average apple you would be eating over 30 pesticides, even after washing it!

Non-organic foods can contain hazardous chemicals. A study found that the urine and saliva of children eating a variety of conventional foods from supermarkets contained biological markers of organophosphates, the family of pesticides spawned by the creation of nerve gas agents in World War II.

How much does conventional really cost? For every kg of garlic imported from China there is an additional 5500kJ of energy from fossil fuels consumed, and the emission of 380g of carbon dioxide and 5.2g of nitrogen oxides.


Ordering

Order cut-off times?

Orders are required before 10am Monday for delivery that week.

How often do I have to order?

You may opt for weekly or fornightly standing orders or simply order when it suits.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, our minimum FLEXI BOX order is $25, otherwise a $5 surcharge will be applicable.

What if I do not like a specific item?

We are aware of your dislikes and requirements and will substitute accordingly to what other produce is available. You may also request that we add more of the produce you have already ordered to make up the substitution. You can specify this with your order.

How do I cancel or amend my order?

Please contact us (preferably by email) by 10am Monday prior to your delivery.

Payment

We accept payment by credit card and Direct Credit (by arrangement)

Credit Card

All Credit Card transactions will be manually processed securely through DPS. The credit card information you send from your web browser are securely encrypted by a 256-bit SSL certificate issued by GoDaddy.com.

Direct Credit

Please transfer into our Westpac account 03 1599 0206498 000 and use your name and address in the reference sections

NOTE: The acceptable forms of payment are Credit Card or Direct Debit, however if these options are inconvenient for you, please contact us on 03 376 4120 to discuss other payment methods. Please note that payment is due the Monday prior to delivery.

When will you invoice me?

Once you have provided us with your details, we will then charge your credit card every Monday evening whenever an order is invoiced. You do not need to provide us with those details again unless there are alterations to be made. Every Monday we will email you your Invoice / Packing Slip for your order for that week; this provides you the opportunity to confirm your order details, and advise us of any changes as required on the Tuesday.
