Environment

We take our commitment to the environment very seriously, valuing the soil we live on and the food it allows us to produce so effectively. Below are the steps we have taken to assist with the preservation of Papatuanuku, Mother Earth:

Packaging

Our aim is to use as little packaging as possible and recycle wherever we can. All customers are encouraged to return their boxes with the next delivery, so that we can reuse them. We limit our plastics usage and if there is any need for us to use them, we ask you to recycle them with the return of your box.

Transport

We have taken steps to offset our carbon footprint by using one vehicle to do all of our customers' shopping and delivery. This means that as our customer base grows, the negative impact grows. Every car we take the place of is vital to the future of our planet.

Ideas

We are continually looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to submit them. It means a lot to us to be a part of the way forward. Thank you very much.

Food Miles

Up to 80% of our produce is grown locally around Canterbury and the South Island; the rest is sourced nationally or internationally (i.e. Bananas).

Printing

Most of our printing is done on recycled paper. Our invoicing is done by email.

Power Supply

Our choice of electricity supplier is Meridian Energy. It is the nation's largest electricity generator and the only energy provider with certified carbon neutral electricity, generated exclusively from renewable resources.
